Released in 1977, It's Time soon became an underground classic. The LP was recorded between 1974-76 using an eight-track tape recorder and instruments including the ARP 2600, String Ensemble, Odyssey, Hammond organ, acoustic and Rhodes pianos, guitar, bass, and drums. "Muro's album is entirely his own creation; he plays guitar, bass, and drums in addition to piano, organ, and a battery of synthesizers. Composition is definitely one of his strong points: two of the cuts were originally scored for symphonic band, and their translation to synthesizer ensemble works marvelously, creating a sense of dramatic excitement often lacking in the average high-energy but steady-state rock or funk tune. At the other extreme, "Music Box" offers double- or triple-tracked Rhodes piano on some mellow pop changes that bring out that instrument's character in a unique way. Nor does Muro ignore the possibilities of his electronics. A high-pitched keening at the beginning of "Leap Frog" unexpectedly slows down and drops in pitch until it proves to be the sequencer playing the bass line. Synthesizer lead licks at several points bring Jan Hammer to mind...It's always refreshing to find superb music flourishing on the fringes of the established superstar scene." Keyboard, December 1977 "Thanks to Tony Coulter and to the many people who who contacted me through my site asking about the re-release of this album. It was great fun playing the master tapes again and listening to music from 35 years ago." Don
